Hillslope Contribution to the Clark Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph: Application to the Seolmacheon Basin, Korea

In this study, the time–area curve of an ellipse is analytically derived by considering flow velocities within both channel and hillslope. The Clark IUH also solving continuity equation with input to linear reservoir. then evaluated application Seolmacheon basin, a small mountainous basin in Korea. findings study are summarized as follows. (1) can more realistically be hillslope velocities. role velocity easily confirmed analyzing curve. (2) shows relative roles storage coefficient. Under condition that remains unchanged, controls runoff peak concentration time. On other hand, effect coefficient found time, well falling limb hydrograph. These analysis rainfall–runoff events basin. (3) varies considerably depending on rainfall events, which mostly dependent upon maximum intensity.
